SIGN UP TO RICHARD BURT'S ENVIRONMENT CHALLENGE
Dear friend,
The Liberal Democrats have consistently campaigned for the environmental cause.
We are rightly the most trusted of the three main parties for our policies on
improving the environment and tackling climate change, and our poll rating on
this issue recently reached an all-time high.
Here is your chance to do your bit to help the environment in three ways:
FIRST: Pledge to make the Green Switch by signing up to one or more of
ten environmental pledges on the Environment Agency Website at
http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/wed/campaign/?user=71366
As the Environment Agency themselves state: "You can make a small promise like
turning off the tap when you brush your teeth or using a 'bag for life', or to
offset your carbon emissions when you take a flight."
SECOND: Sign up to receive email news from the Liberal Democrats about
the environment at
http://www.libdems.org.uk/party/emailnews.html - just tick the "Environment"
option in the list.
THIRD: What have you done? Are there successes you've had that we should
be getting people to replicate elsewhere? ~Please let me know by emailing

Climate change is the greatest challenge of our times, and the Lib Dems are
setting the pace on ways to change our behaviour. This year, we have taken a big
step by putting forward practical proposals for a "green switch" - cutting taxes
such as income tax whilst raising taxes on actions which damage the environment.
It has changed the terms of the political debate. With your help, we do all we
can to improve the environment and continue to hold the other parties to account
when their actions fail to match their words.
